Usage of PayPal in India

The wallet business is in its peak in India. From last few years there are many brands enter in market with their e-wallet services. PayPal is one among them. But many of the people still don’t know where PayPal is been accepted in India.

It is launched few years back in India, it is used only for doing foreign transaction. Which means you can not use it for transaction with local merchant.

But now PayPal is also accepted by various merchants in India as well, which is a sort of good news for every PayPal user. Now many of you don’t have to keep different types of wallets for different use. But yes it is still not accepted by all the merchants in India, which is a drawback.

You might have been thinking, why are we discussing about PayPal? The reason behind doing so is that PayPal is a globally accepted form of mode of transaction. And from the security point of view it has good reports and reviews from its users.

PayPal helps you make transaction with foreign merchant with ease. Because of this you are not required to put your card details at every second merchants website, if you’re shopping online.

For those instances, if the merchant accepts PayPal, we can still pay for the item with our Diners Card. This has resulted into huge savings via the 10X program. This transaction is not considered as wallet transaction.

Where do I find my PayPal cashback voucher?

On the web:
Log in to your PayPal account and click Payment Methods. Your PayPal cashback voucher will appear under ‘Saved Offers’. 

On the app:
Log in to the app. Your PayPal voucher will appear under ‘Offers’.

In a case where you have a business account with us, you may not see the voucher here. You’ll need to download the PayPal app, log in and check ‘Offers’ section in the bottom part of the app homepage to find your cashback voucher.

How do I report unauthorised PayPal account activity?

To report an unauthorised transaction:
Go to Resolution Centre.
Click Report a problem.
Find your transaction and follow the steps to report a payment as unauthorised.

To check or cancel your pre-approved billing agreements:
Go to Settings.
Click Payments.
Click Manage automatic payment.
Select the merchant’s name or email address.
Click Cancel.

What are the currency conversion fees?

To check the currency conversion rate:
Go to Wallet.
Below your ‘Balance’, click Currency calculator. PayPal’s current exchange rate is shown below the currency selections area.

To convert a currency balance:
Go to Wallet.
Next to the currency you want to convert, click the three vertical dots.
Select Convert currency from the options shown. PayPal’s current exchange rate is shown below the currency selections area.

How do I upgrade my PayPal Individual account to a Business account

If you’re a seller, you can use a Business account to receive payments under your business name. Here’s how to upgrade to a Business account:
Go to your Account Summary.
Click Upgrade to a Business account near the bottom left of the page.
Follow the instructions to provide the required information.
