HDFC Forexplus Card Cross Currency Charges
In case if you want to do transaction in a currency different then what is available in the card. The bank will charge cross currency markup of 2% on such transaction.
Even for cross currency transactions involving wallet to wallet transfers within currencies which is already available on Multicurrency ForexPlus card you will be charged with 3% cross currency charges.

Clearly this card is made for the people who are staying temporarily in other country. It does not mean that you can not get this card if you live in India. But there is no worth of having this if you live here only.
The best thing about this card is that it charges low cross currency fees. That is why it is suggested to take forex card if you’re moving abroad for long period of time like 1-3 years.
How to apply for forexplus card?
You can apply for the card in the following manner:
- You have to visit the HDFC website or nearby HDFC branch to apply for the card.
- Fill up all the information to apply for the card
- Submit all the necessary documents required for the credit card
- Age: 18 years – 60 years
- Occupation: Available for both self-employed as well as a salaried individual
The monetary requirement for the card has nowhere mentioned which means you have to first fill the application form for the card after which the bank will connect you for further proceedings.
- Identity Proof: PAN Card, Aadhar Card, Voter’s ID Card, Driving License, Ration Card
- Address Proof: Aadhar card, Voter’s ID, Ration Card, Electricity Bill, Lease/Rent Agreement, Utility Bills
- Income Proof: Salary Slip of last 6 months
- Bank Statement of last 6 months
- ITR of an annual year
No doubt it is an amazing card providing lots of features. But keep in mind this is a debit card and not a credit card. Hence some times it becomes expensive to use.
If you’re traveling to a country with a currency that’s not available on the card as you’ll be charged markup fees TWICE, first while loading, next while spending.
If you don’t want burden of this filling, refilling and charges. Then just simply go for credit cards which provides flexible support when it comes to international transaction.

In case if you lost/get stolen your card , all you are required to do is call HDFC Bank Phone Banking immediately and report the loss of your card to get it blocked.
